Red Lodge Randonnee was the brainchild of our friend Casey Gruber. Casey hounded us for years to host a skimo and we finally caved when he said he'd be involved every step of the way. And boy was he. Casey's enthusiasm and dedication to creating a challenging yet welcoming skimo race in the Red Lodge community built a foundation for success. His love for Type 2 Fun and his beardsicles while setting frigid mid-night boot packs were unmatched and will surely be missed.
Casey was so much to so many people in our community. He was a dedicated father and family man, volunteer firefighter, heavily involved with Rodeo and Ski Joring boards, and a beloved and knowledgeable veterinarian to all our four legged adventure buddies.
This year, to honor Casey, we'll be donating to the SNOW DAY SCHOLARSHIP FUND that directly helps local kids get out skiing. Nothing ignited Casey's passion more than spreading the stoke of skiing, especially to future generations!
