PROGRAMS

Get your little athletes ready for their sports and daily activities through running. They will build endurance, speed and strength to improve performance and reduce injury in athletics, as well as everyday activities. They would not know they are working hard because they would be having too much fun!

We strive to 

  1. Build whole athletes one child at a time.
  2. Give the child the chance to grow into their own athlete.
  3. Develop strong minds and bodies through trail running.

 

Trail Run Club (November to March)

Great for athletes who can already run a mile continuously and wants to run longer. One day a week, we go for a longer run on the trails after a warm up, core and strength work. On the other day, we will work on speed and agility. The goal is to nurture the joy for trail running, improve our aerobic capacity and gain some speed along the way. We complete a mile time trial at the first and last session of every month.

  • For grades 2-8, based at the Shell Ridge Open Space near Indian Valley Elementary School

  • Days: Tuesday and Thursday, 4:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.

  • November (11/2, 11/7, 11/9, 11/14, 11/16, 11/21)

  • December (12/5, 12/7, 12/12, 12/14, 12/19, 12/21)

  • January (1/9, 1/11, 1/16, 1/18, 1/23, 1/25, 1/30)

  • February (2/1, 2/6, 2/20, 2/22, 2/27, 2/29)

  • March (3/5, 3/7, 3/12, 3/14, 3/19, 3/21, 3/26, 3/28)

  • Minimum 12 participants to run.

  • We celebrate the end of every practice with an otter pop.

  • Sign up monthly or for the whole season.

After School Program (January to May)

We warm up, do some drills, run laps and play games. The goal is to nurture the joy for running, improve our aerobic capacity and gain some speed along the way.

  • For grades 1-5 based at Buena Vista (Monday), Tice Creek & Parkmead (Wednesday), Walnut Acres (Wednesday)

  • Minimum 12 participants to run.

  • We celebrate the end of every practice with an otter pop.

  • Details subject to change.

 

NEW! Summer Run Club (Fall Sports Conditioning, July to August)

Great for athletes who are preparing for Fall sports. One day a week, we go for a longer run on the trails after a warm up, core and strength work. On the other day, we will work on speed and agility. The goal is to nurture the joy for trail running, improve our aerobic capacity and gain some speed along the way. We complete a mile time trial at the first and last session.

  • For grades 2-8 based at the Shell Ridge Open Space near Indian Valley Elementary School

  • Days: Tuesday and Thursday, 8:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.

  • Minimum 12 participants to run.

  • We celebrate the end of every practice with an otter pop.

  • Details subject to change.

 

St Mary CYO Cross Country (August to October)

Runs from August to October, a great way for children to get into cross country racing. Details HERE
