Race Course Guards on 2nd and 3rd Avenues

You must be 18 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

FOR ALL ROAD GUARD POSITIONS, VOLUNTEERS UNDER THE AGE OF 18 HAVE TO BE PAIRED WITH AN ADULT VOLUNTEER (just the adult needs to register).

All road guards need to be in position by 9am for start of first race.

Check in with task coordinator between 7:45 and 8:30 so you can be at your location by 9am. You will receive a vest and stop sign. Done about 10:15 or 10:30. Course guards on these streets guard for both races: the 5K (starts at 9am) and the street mile (starts at 10am). When finished, return to the check-in area to turn in your vest and sign and collect your shirt, a snack and our thanks.

Race Course Guards on Clark Avenue

You must be 18 or older to volunteer for this task.

FOR ALL ROAD GUARD POSITIONS, VOLUNTEERS UNDER THE AGE OF 18 HAVE TO BE PAIRED WITH AN ADULT VOLUNTEER (just the adult needs to register).

All road guards need to be in position by 9am for start of first race.

Check in with task coordinator between 7:45 and 8:30 so you can be at your location by 9am. You will receive a vest and stop sign. Course sweeper will come through after last people pass. You may be asked to walk over to Yellowstone and help support that intersection. When the sweep comes through on Yellowstone, you are done. Should be done by 10am. When finished, return to the check-in area to turn in your vest and sign and collect your shirt, a snack and our thanks.

Race Course Guards on Yellowstone Ave

You must be 18 or older to volunteer for this task.

Should be done by 10am. When finished, return to the check-in area to turn in your vest and sign and collect your shirt, a snack and our thanks.

Direct lead cyclist and lead pack of runners to turn at the correct locations.

Check in with task coordinator between 7:45 and 8:30 so you can be at your location by 9am. You will receive a vest and flags. Done about 10:15 or 10:30. (After the street mile race.) At that time return to check-in area and turn in vest and sign and collect your shirt, a snack and our thanks.

Finish Line Course Guard

Details

Guide finishers from each race, around the Credit Union building so they can pick up a finisher glass if they want one. Keep finishers from cutting through onto 31st St. Help single out the top male and female finisher from each race and guide them to the awards table.

Check in with the task coordinator between 7:45 and 8:30. You will need to be at the finish line area when the 1st race starts at 9, and stay there until the 2nd race ends at about 10:30

Awards Table

Details

Pass out awards to runners. Look at results page for race, or get results information from the timer who is located near by. Top 3 finishers in each age group are entitled to a medal. Top male and female finisher in each of the 2 races will get a special top prize. The finish line course guard will help identify those top finishers in each race.

Food Table Host

Course Sweep Person

This volunteer task is full.

Details

Using a vehicle with your flashers on, you will 'sweep' the 5k and Mile courses.

Check-in with volunteer coordinator at 8 am. 'Sweeping' starts at 9am. Follow last participants in 5k. When you reach Clark Ave, as you pass course guards you can take their vest and sign and let them know they can head back and grab snacks. You will follow 5K runners to Yellowstone and Division. Also letting the guards on Yellowstone know they are finished. By that time it is nearly 10am and the Street Mile is starting. Wait at the Division course guard station for all the Milers to pass, then follow the last miler on 3rd, heading east to 28th St, then west on 2nd as they head to the finish.

Check in with task coordinator between 7:45 and 8:30 for instructions and vest, then move to the 5K course start (2nd Ave & 30th St). Lead the 5k runners around the course and to the finish area. Course map on race website. Return to check-in area
