On Thursday, prior to Race Day, volunteers to assemble race packets for participants. You will match participants' bibs with their race jersey selection, additional race merchandise selections they have added to their runner registration, sponsor information, and information handouts provided to participants by the Race Directors.

Prepare the packet pickup room at the Community Church of Douglas. Arrange runner packets and do last minute bagging for late registrants. Place signage directing participants and QR code signage for last minute registrants.

Assist participants on Friday, prior to Race Day, in their pick-up of race packets. Includes checking-in participants using the RunSignUp Check-in App and retrieving packets for the participant. To complete the Check-in role, you will need to use your smartphone or tablet on which the RunSignUp Check-in App has been downloaded. Instructions will be provided in advance of the packet pick-up date.

Details

Configure and charge POS terminals / devices to record sales of the merchandise. Assist purchasers in selecting the desired item/size/quantity and process sales transactions and provide merchandise to purchasers. Maintain control of cash box and count proceeds at the end of the event.

Verify IDs for those persons seeking an alcoholic beverage and stamp their hand to show that they were age verified.

Repackage unsold merchandise and assist with transport from Coghlin Park to storage.

Race Finish and Party

Finish Line Announcer Medium Priority

Details

In coordination with Race Timer and using race timer equipment, announce runners as they cross the finish mat.

Requires at least two spotters to identify runners as they approach the finish line and communicate to the announcer who the runner is so they can be recognized as they cross.

Master of Ceremony at Post-Race Party Medium Priority

Details

Coordinate with disk jockey for music selection and ensure sound set-up and power supply to the stage is adequate and according to site plan.

Make race and party announcements during events. Award trophies for overall and age group winners.

Assist disk jockey with the tear-down of equipment at conclusion of the event.

Hand Out Runners Medals at Finish Line Medium Priority

Details

Congratulate the runners and hand medals to each runner as they cross the finish line at Coghlin Park and cheer the finishing participants.

Involves preparing ribbons and medals to be handed to each finishing runner so as to be ready to award ribbons when the first finisher completes the race (approximately 45 minutes for the 10K+ distance).
