Packet Pickup volunteers are needed during Early Packet Pickup on December 5th at CNO from 12-6:00 p.m. and the morning of the Race at Smother’s Park from 7:00-8:00 a.m.

Volunteers will assist with registration, check-in, bib assignment, and packet/shirt pickup.
Time commitment: 3-6 hour time block on Friday & 1 hour on Saturday morning.

Route Volunteer High Priority

Details

Route volunteers (aka The Cheer Committee) are placed along the race route to give direction and encouragement to race participants. We encourage volunteers to come dressed in fun Christmas attire, Santa hats, fun socks, etc. Please bring noise makers, sing or play Christmas music, and cheer on the runners and walkers in a fun way! This is a perfect way to earn 2-3 community service hours!

The 5K route starts and ends near Smothers Parks, downtown Owensboro. Volunteers need to arrive at the Smothers Park pavilion near the bathrooms at 7:00 am. We will briefly speak to volunteers about their assignment on the route. We expect the event to end by 9:30 am.

Setup & Teardown Team High Priority

Details

At 6:30 a.m., volunteers are needed to unload vehicles and help setup tables (registration, door prizes, awards, snacks, and Overflow Café hot chocolate), hang banners, setup water and food items, and place signs along the route. After the race, they will assist with teardown and reloading of vehicles.
Time commitment: 6:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.
