Camp Checklist: What to Bring...What to Leave at Home!

Hi Campers and Families!

Get ready for an awesome week of running, new friends, and load of fun! To make sure every day is a blast, please use this handy checklist to help you prepare. Being prepared means you can focus on what is important: having an exciting time!

Before You Leave Home (Your Morning Launchpad)

  • Apply Sunscreen! Please apply sunscreen generously before you arrive at camp each morning.
  • Eat a Light Breakfast. A small, healthy breakfast like toast, oatmeal, or a banana will give you the energy you need to start the day strong.
  • Start Hydrating. Drink a glass of water before you even get in the car.
  • Use the Restroom. Always an excellent idea before a morning of activity!

What to Wear (Come Dressed and Ready to Move!)

  • Properly Fitting Running Shoes. Please wear comfortable, supportive running shoes (not casual sneakers like Vans or Converse). Make sure they are laced up and ready for action!
  • Your Official Camp-Issued Moisture-Wicking Shirt! Please wear your awesome new camp shirt each day (the one from your goodie bag!). It is perfect for our activities.
  • Comfortable Athletic Shorts.
  • Athletic Socks. Good, moisture-wicking socks are a runner's best friend! They are the #1 way to prevent blisters. (It is best to avoid 100% cotton socks).
  • Hat or Visor. A fantastic way to keep the sun off your face.
  • Sunglasses (Highly Recommended!). Eye protection is important! When you are not squinting, your whole body stays more relaxed, which makes running and playing way more fun.

What to Pack in Your Bag (Your Daily Gear)

  • A Small Bag or Backpack. To store your water bottle, snack, and other gear during camp.
  • Water Bottle (IMPORTANT!). A large, reusable water bottle clearly labeled with your name. Please have it pre-filled with water when you arrive. We will have stations for refills.
  • A Healthy Snack. A small, non-perishable snack like a granola bar, pretzels, or fruit for our post-run refuel time.
  • Small Towel. Great for wiping away sweat after a good workout.
  • Cell Phone Policy (Please Read!): We ask that campers please bring a cell phone if they have one for safety and parent communication. However, to ensure everyone is fully engaged, all phones must remain silenced and stored in their bag/backpack during all camp activities.
  • Personal Medical Items (If needed). Any essential items like an inhaler or EpiPen. Please be sure to notify the camp staff about any medical needs on the first day.
  • A Positive, Can-Do Attitude! The most important thing you can bring every single day!

What to Leave at Home (For a Distraction-Free Day)

To ensure all campers are fully engaged with the coaches, counselors, and fun activities, please leave the following at home:

  • Electronic devices other than a phone (e.g., tablets, electronic games).
  • Personal Toys or Valuables. This includes jewelry or anything you would be sad to lose.
  • Cash. No money needed at camp.

We cannot wait to see you all for a week of fun, friends, and fitness! Let us get ready to run!
