THE COURSE

Cape Fear River Trail - Jordan Soccer Complex
445 Treetop Drive
Fayetteville, NC 28311

The Red Apple Run for Diabetes is a 5K and 10K through the Jordan Soccer Complex portion of Carvers Creek State Park. The course offers scenic running through longleaf pine forests.

The CFRT is located between the Jordan Soccer Complex and Cross Creek Linear Park. It features a 10-foot wide paved path. In addition to the wooden bridges, including one covered bridge, there is over 1,000 feet of boardwalk through the marsh and wetlands along the trail. There are more than 700 species of plants and trees, and 150 species of birds. The river trail area is also home to an unusual combination and diversity of hardwood trees. Frogs, lizards and turtles are common sights, with an occasional deer, turkey or bald eagle.
Strollers are discouraged due to the narrowness  of the trails.
