Event Description
The Skippo began in 2009 as a 20k trail race in beautiful Castlewood State Park that featured two 10k loops on a fairly flat course except, of course, for the famous stairs! In 2011, we wanted to involve as many runners as possible so we added two more options, a 10k and a 30k. The Skippo then evolved into a two-day format in order to accommodate growth and popularity. In 2019 the 20k was changed to a Half-Marathon, and thus the modern day SKIPPO was born.
Consider entering the team competition for the Skippo Saturday 10k! Sign up, convince a few friends to join you and come see if you are St. Louis' fastest trail team. Up to Five people may join the same team, and the three fastest members of your team will have their times combined to determine the winner.
Big River Trail Series
The Skippo Trail Race is the first race in the Big River Trail Series. Sign up for Wild in the Woods and Castlewood Cup for the ultimate trail race experience! You'll compete for points from your best performance in 3 of the 6 events between all three races. Entering the full series also gets you a discount on each race!

The top overall male and female finisher in the 10k, Half Marathon and 30k will receive Gift Cards to Big River Running Company!
The top three in each of the following age groups will receive a custom Skippo Award:
