3rd Annual NHCC Virtual 5K Run/Walk/Roll

We invite you to participate in this year’s NHCC Exercise is Medicine Virtual 5K Run/Walk/Roll sometime between November 1 - November 30, 2022. Your registration will be free, and you can choose either to either run, walk or roll (wheelchair users). Remember to stay safe, properly hydrated, and cool during your Virtual 5K, and upon completion, upload a photo with your official time/results.

The NHCC EIM Virtual 5K Run/Walk/Roll will be an important part of this year’s Exercise is Medicine – On Campus month. November celebrates EIM among colleges and universities, promoting physical activity, wellness, and health, and celebrating the EIM movement across campus and campus communities. The virtual aspect allows you to complete the 5K in whatever city, state, country, or campus you are located in. 

What is Exercise is Medicine-On Campus? 

Exercise is Medicine® On-Campus calls upon universities and colleges to promote physical activity as a vital sign of health. EIM-OC encourages faculty, staff, and students to work together toward improving the health and well-being of the campus community by:

• Making movement a part of the daily campus culture
• Assessing physical activity at every student health visit
• Providing students with the tools necessary to strengthen healthy physical activity habits that can last a lifetime
• Connecting university health care providers with university health fitness specialists to provide a referral system for exercise prescription.

How This Works:

1. Register for the NHCC Exercise is Medicine Virtual 5K Run/Walk/Roll
2. Complete the 3.1 miles anytime and anywhere between the dates listed, but be sure to track your time to completion and snap some photos.
3. Log your results on the results page (click here). 
4. Post your photos on the NHCC Instagram or Facebook pages with the hashtag #NHCCEIM5K
