O Healthy Goals (Dr. Melissa Ramsey, MSN, RN, FNP-C) @ 1:15pm

Melissa Ramsey is a native of Maryland and a graduate of Towson State University. She began her career as a Coronary Care nurse at The University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, where she spent seven years witnessing firsthand the effects of poor health. While working night shifts, she often spoke with patients recovering from heart attacks or awaiting transplants. Many would say, “If I could do life over again, I would have taken better care of my health.”

These conversations inspired her passion for helping people achieve their health goals. She became certified as a group fitness instructor and personal trainer and holds certifications in Body Combat, Body Pump, Body Flow, and Warrior Strength.

In 2015, Mrs. Ramsey earned her master’s degree from Bowie State University and joined Doctors Community Hospital as a breast cancer nurse practitioner, managing their high-risk program.

In 2020, she opened Get Your Body Back Wellness Center to support patients through habit-based weight loss. She is also a certified injector trained in injectables and body contouring. At the center, patients learn how to safely lose 1–2 pounds per week, adopt sustainable lifestyle changes, and celebrate milestones with pampering services.

Mrs. Ramsey is an active member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, and Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society. She completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree at Aspen University in 2023. Her dissertation is titled Obesity: Strengthening Favorable Habits for Improved Adherence to Weight Loss Management and is available on ProQuest.
