Any registrations after 11:00 AM on November 16th will not receive their race shirt at packet pickup.
Race shirts will be available for pickup at the KultureCity office the week of December 1st. Please email shawn@kulturecity.org to schedule a time to pick it up

What time does the race start?
The half marathon will start at 7:30 AM followed by the 5K at 8:00 AM and One Mile Fun Run Dash at 9:00 AM. 

Is the 13.1 miles and 5K Race chip timed? 
Yes, both races are chip timed. The One Mile Fun Run Dash is not chip timed.

I want to run the One Mile with my child and will be doing the 5K or 13.1. Do I need to register for the One Mile?
If you are registered for either the 5K or 13.1 and want to join your child for the One Mile you will not need a separate registration for that. However, only registered participants will receive the One Mile medal. 

Can I run virtually?
Yes, the 13.1 miles, 5K Race, and One Mile Fun Run Dash can be done virtually. All virtual runners will receive an offical race shirt.

Can I get a refund?
All race entries are non-refundable. 

How do I become a sponsor?
Please visit the race website (https://www.kulturecity.org/birmingham-race) for sponsorhip opportunites. 

What drinks will be on the course?
The course will have a water stations.  There will also be Coca-Cola based energy drinks on the course. There will be a medical aid station accessible near the Start/Finish Line. 

Will there be bathrooms on the course?
Bathrooms and Portalets will be available at the start/finish line. 

Is there a race-day registration and packet pickup?
Race-day registration can be done at packet pickup starting at 5:30 AM.

Can I wear headphones?
We do not recommend using headphones but we leave it up to the athlete on his/ her ability to follow directions and hear the surrounding noices while wearing headphone devices.

Will you have pacers for the Half Marathon?
Yes. Pacers will run at the following paces:

2:10 
2:15 
2:30  
4:00 

Can someone else run in my place?
No, registration is non-transferrable. 

Where should I park?
There is ample street parking around the start line. 

Are there finisher medals?
Yes, there will be finisher medals for the One Mile Fun Run Dash, 5K, and half marathon. 

Are there race shirts?
Yes, all participants for the One Mile Fun Run Dash, 5K, and half marathon will receive a commerative race shirt.

Will there be a bag check on race day?
Yes, bag check will be available. 

Are wheelchair and adaptive athletes welcome?
Yes. Wheelchair and adaptive athletes are welcome to participate in the One Mile Fun Run Dash, 5K, and Half Marathon. During registration, please indicate that you will be participating as a wheelchair or adaptive athlete so our race team can plan accordingly and help provide a safe and enjoyable race-day experience.

Can I participate with a guide? 
Yes, guides are welcome. If you need a guide or additional assistance to participate, please contact Shawn at shawn@kulturecity.org. We’ll work with you to coordinate the support you need for race day.

Are walkers allowed in the race?
Yes, but you must meet the race cuttoff time, which is four hours for the half marathon. 

Are baby joggers, strollers or pets allowed during the race?
Yes. 

When and where is packet pickup?
Packet pickup will be available Thursday, November 19th and Friday, November 20th from 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM at the KultureCity office, located at 2417 1st Ave N, Birmingham, AL 35203. Packet pickup will be offered in a convenient drive-through format, allowing you to pick up your race materials without leaving your vehicle.

What material is the race shirt?
Race shirts are 100% polyester interlock, moisture-wicking performance, and UPF 50+ protection. 

What are the awards for top finishers?

• Top 3 Overall Men, Women, and Nonbinary Runners;
• Top Male, Female, and Nonbinary Masters (50 and above);
• Top 3 Age Groups (Men, Women, and Nonbinary): less than 16, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75 and over

What are the team awards?
There is an award for biggest team.

Will there be a post race celebration?
After you race your 5K and 13.1 miles, celebrate your accomplishments with us! We will have a post race celebration with amazing food and music together with your friends and family!

What time do awards start?
Awards will start as soon as the first category is determined. This will be around 9:00 AM.

What hotels are nearby?
There are many hotels near the start/finish line. Homewood Suites Near UAB, Hilton Birmingham Downtown, and SpringHill Suites Downtown at UAB are a few options. At this time, we do not have a discounted rate for any participants.
