Be a Hero Race

We want to sincerely thank everyone who has shown interest in the Be a Hero Race. After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to postpone the event.

The race will now be held in April 2026. With only a few registrations and several major fall events already on the calendar (including Husker football season), we believe this new date will give us the best opportunity to create a successful, fun, and meaningful event for our community.

If you have already registered, you will be contacted directly regarding your options to either stay registered for the new date or request a full refund.

We truly appreciate your patience, understanding, and support. We are committed to making the Be a Hero Race an incredible experience in 2026—and we look forward to seeing you at the starting line!

We will transfer your registration to the new event date once it is set, and look forward to having you join us. Thanks for your patience!

Virtual races happen all the time, and allow you to join the fun without the crowds. You simply run the distance on your own, and report your results - we’ll send you instructions.

You understand that events are expensive, even when cancelled, and you want us to keep your registration fees to help cover our costs. We deeply appreciate your generosity and look forward to seeing you at an event soon.

Be a Hero for Project Lifesaver 5K & Gravel Grinder Race
Join FOP Lodge 84 on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Chautauqua Park for a fun-filled superhero-themed fundraiser benefiting Project Lifesaver—a life-saving program that helps locate individuals with Alzheimer’s, autism, and other cognitive conditions who may wander from safety.

This event is perfect for runners, walkers, and cyclists of all ages! Dress as your favorite superhero and be a hero for those who need us most.
