Description

1st Annual Sister in the Fight Walk/Run 5K, presented by Sister in the Fight, Inc. Nonprofit Organization!  All 5K proceeds will directly impact local families in crisis.  Every step you take and every dollar raised will help us provide food, clothing, household essentials, emergency support, and help supplement the cost of medication for those battling cancer and heart disease.

This 5K offers an experience of the active and passive trail at Salisbury's Community Park, where participants can enjoy nature at its best while running or walking for a great cause.  Together, we can ensure that no woman or child faces their vulnerable moments alone.  EVERY STEP MAKES A DIFFERENCE!

When:  Saturday, September 27 at 9:45 a.m. (5K) and 10:45 a.m. (Fun Run)

Where:  Salisbury Community Park - 935 Hurley School Rd, Salisbury, NC 28147

Cost:  5K - $25 if received before race day (only $20 for ages 19 & under!), $30 race day;  Fun Run - $15

Shirts:  Dry Fit T-shirts to all runners and walkers in the 5k (guaranteed for those registered by September 5).

Awards:
Top 3 Overall Male & Female, Top Masters Male and Female, as well as top 3 in each age group Male & Female:  10 & Under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 & Over

Fun Run (10 & Under):  Top 3 overall

Race-Day: Registration ($30-5k | $10-Fun Run) & Check-In / Packet Pick Up:  8:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.

Proceeds:  All 5K proceeds will impact the lives of women, children, and families in need as well as help promote community awareness and education through the following ministries: 

  • Breast Cancer Support through treatment, recovery, and medication assistance.
  • Heart Disease Prevention through education, awareness, and medication assistance for heart health
  • Domestic Violence Recovery helping survivors rebuild their lives
  • Youth Support supporting children affected by gun violence
