INTERMOUNTAIN YOUTH CHAMPIONSHIPS

We are honored and excited to host the IYC's in Seeley Lake, Montana.  The Ice Badgers and MTCX are the promoters of the event.  Check in with us on questions as you see us at the other venues, you can also email me anytime, montanacyclocross@gmail.com.

  • $80 for the weekend
  • $10 for the weekend grooming fee to Seeley Lake Nordic
  • WAX RECOMMENDATION: Wednesday February 25th
  • Team spaces will be reserved for all IMD teams registered and marked with a sign
  • You can wax from your team area or at the Seeley Lake Yurt
  • Online Registration closes 2/26 at 12pm
  • Day of Registration is available on site in the morning
  • Day of Packet pickup is available from the yurt on Saturday and Sunday mornings

 

SCHEDULE

Friday:

  • 12pm - dark - course open

  • 12pm - dark - team Area setup time

  • 5-7pm - number pick up and Seeley Nordic Pasta Feed (Seeley Lake Elementary School)

 

Saturday:

  • 9am Skate Interval Start

  • U8 - 1k

  • U10 & U12 - 2k

  • U14 - 3k

  • U16 Novice - 5k 

  • 12pm PODIUMS

  • 1pm 1km Ski Obstacle Course Interval Start Order = U8, U10, U12, U14, U16 Novice

  • 4pm PODIUMS

 

Sunday:

  • 9am Classic Mass Start

    U8 - 1k

    U10 & U12 - 2k

    U14 - 3k

    U16 Novice - 5k 

  • 12pm PODIUM & WEEKEND AWARDS

 

 

 

PARKING & REGISTRATION

 

  • Please park in the main lot at the Seeley Lake Nordic Trailhead, once it's full you can park in the snowmobile lot across the street
  • Race HQ and podiums are at the yurt at Seeley Lake
  • Friday's Pasta Feed and Number pickup is at Seeley Lake Elementary

WHERE TO STAY

Seeley Lake, Montana, 55 minutes outside of Missoula, it's an hour drive from Missoula to Seeley Lake.  All racing and events are in the town of Seeley Lake.  Ideally, teams take up the majority of the lodging below in Seeley Lake first and then look for spots in Missoula.

Places to stay in the Greenough, MT area - 25 min

  • Lubrecht Experimental Forest - these are rustic cabins that the University of Montana owns
  • Blackfoot River Outpost - more modern cabins with an ice rink along the river
  • Paws Up Guest Ranch - 4 star, fancy


Places to stay in Missoula, MT - easy access to highway and entrance to rt 200. 55 min

  • City Center Motel - our local motel, Keyvin and Jacky are part of our youth skiing community and will take care of you and you
  • Finn and Double Tree - right next to the interstate for easy access and great restaurant
