First race goes off at 7:15 am, last race done by 11:00 am. 

The exact order will be posted before registration opens. 
The schedule will be very close to last year’s schedule.

We will have three categories of races, Grade Level races, a co-ed open race, and a Boys and Girls National Championship race.

In the Grade Level race, top runners will receive medals in each race.  In addition, using the time they run on race day, runners will be compared to and ‘ranked’ by time for their state, their region, and nationally for the 2025 cross country season. Finally, their result on race day will also be compared to and ranked against our all-time lists for an overall historic placement according to ‘time’ and ‘state’. 

The Open race is for any runner not in high school. This means 8th grade and below, and post-high school are all welcome. 

The Invitational Championship race is open to high school runners only. This race will be an ‘Invitation Only’ race.  When registering, you will select this race as an option, and if our selection committee agrees, you will be entered in that race.  If they do not, you will be placed in a grade-level race. Selection Criteria will be outlined in detail for you as we get closer to the opening of registration.  In the past, we allowed anyone to take part in the “Championship Race” here at Mt. SAC.  That will not be the case for this race.  We anticipate a race of 125 to 150 people.  Our goal is to assemble a well-curated group of the very best runners who choose to participate. 

If you are a member of a group, team, or club that has 15 or more runners, we will bundle all your race bibs so that one person can pick them up for your entire group. To take advantage of this service, your group leader must do the following:

1. Email us at nationsbestrunners@gmail.com with the word ‘Group’ in the subject line.
   
   
2. Give us the exact name of your Group.  As race day gets closer, we sort all the entries by group name and assign the bibs accordingly.  Any member of your group who puts the wrong name down when registering will not be sorted with your correct group names.  
   
   Example: Your Group Name is ‘Team Butterball’.  Most of your group list ‘Team Butterball’ as their Group Name, but a few put down ‘Butterball’. Those who put down ‘Butterball’ will not be sorted into the ‘Team Butterball’ group.  Those names are not the same and will not be together in the group sort.  The people who listed Butterball will still be in the meet but will be treated as individuals and all individuals go through the Individual Bib Pick Up Line.
   
   
3. Clearly instruct your team on what to write down for the ‘GROUP NAME’ question during registration.

We will be more specific about awards as we get closer to meet day.  Those of you who have been at Mt. SAC for our previous December meet know that we like to be liberal with awards, and this year will be no exception.  We are just not ready to share all the specifics with you yet.  

This event will be contested regardless of the weather. Management reserves the right to make adjustments to the course, its distance, or any other aspect to ensure the safety of the participants.  There are no refunds of your registration fees for any reason.
