The course through Jake Gaither Neighborhood is very fast and provides participants with a great chance to run personal bests. Volunteers for this race are abundant and enthusiastic.
Proceeds from the race go to Sickle Cell Foundation to help families dealing with Sickle Cell Disease.
We have five divisions of teams: Men's, Women's, Co-ed, Middle School, and Elementary.
Each runner may only compete in one team division.
This does not affect individual competition or awards.
Teams are required to have at least four runners (minimum) and are limited to five runners (maximum).
There is no age restriction. Youth can compete if they wish.
Co-ed open teams must have four runners minimum or five runners (maximum).
Additionally, co-ed rosters must include at least 2 males and at least 2 females.
This means that the following are the possible combinations of males (M) and females (F):
MMFF
MMMFF
MMFFF
note that a 3-1 MMMF or MFFF is not a legal roster.
The minimum number of runners for a valid team is four.
There is no maximum number of runners for youth rosters.
These teams can have any combination of males and females.
Team members must attend the school or compete on the school team.
The results are based upon total time of the top four runners - not based upon traditional cross-country scoring.
You may join, or create teams up until 11:59pm on Monday 9/6/21. You may change teams up until 11:59pm on Wednesday 9/8/21. At midnight two days before the race, team rosters are finalized.
Note that any team with less than four runners is not a valid team.
In the case of co-ed teams, rosters with only one male or only one female cannot be considered valid.
In all divisions, the top four (4) runners will be scored and the team race results will be calculated based upon total finish time of those four.
Additional runners (after the fourth) will not be calculated in the team competition.
We have exclusive, team-only awards for the top team in each of the five divisions.
These are in addition to any individual awards for overall and age-groups.
