Philly Running Alliance

Working to unite runners and clubs in establishing Philadelphia as a premier running destination, where all residents, regardless of age, background, or ability, can enjoy safe access to running.

Founded in May of 2025, we trace our roots to 2015 with the creation of Philly Mayor’s Cup, an annual race held at Belmont Plateau designed to bring neighborhood run clubs together for friendly competition & charitable action.

Inspired by the response, and intending to find a way to give the proceeds back to the running community, we began mapping out Philly Running Alliance after watching cyclists and pedestrians groups secure meaningful improvements for their constituents and wondering where the runners were. 100% volunteer-run.

Philly Running Alliance is currently working through the steps to be recognized as a 501(c)3. In the meantime, all donations go through the Philly Mayor's Cup organization, which is organized as an affiliate member of the RRCA. Through the RRCA, Philly Mayor's Cup is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. We will keep supporters updated on the progress towards an official Philly Running Alliance status.
