Grandview Foundation
Founded in 1969, Grandview Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit organization providing exceptional addiction recovery treatment to underserved adults, regardless of their ability to pay. (The Foundation is Drug Medi-Cal Certified.)
Grandview’s approach is kind, respectful, and gentle. Its team of experts is experienced in treating the most difficult substance abuse cases. Grandview’s staff has expertise in addiction medicine, mental health, therapy, social integration, education, wellness, and recovery support.
Grandview operates out of ten beautiful settings located in residential neighborhoods in Pasadena, California. Our goal is to make patients feel at home as they learn how to heal and overcome their addiction.
Whether enrolled in residential treatment, outpatient, or living in one of our six supportive sober homes, our patients are in an environment that enhances feelings of serenity and safety. This atmosphere is an integral advantage of the Grandview Approach.
WHY WELLNESS?
Running brings unique physical and mental benefits to those struggling with excessive stress and with drug addiction. Most people who struggle with addiction are looking for an easy means of relieving pain or stress. By providing an alternate, healthier method of relief and mood improvement, running and other aerobic exercise can help suppress drug cravings and reduce temptations to relapse. Running also helps remedy other health problems caused by addiction.
Grandview, at the beginning of the pandemic, was fortunate to receive a grant to fund wellness programs. From these programs, the Grandview Running Team (made up of board members, staff and patients) was established.
It’s the perfect time to share our excitement and passion for running, and hope to expand our community of support for families touched by the disease of addiction.
