New Location for the Annual Dave's Turkey Chase

Toledo, Ohio - July 1, 2025

Following significant growth at its 10th-anniversary event in 2024, the Dave’s Turkey Chase is excited to announce a new location. In close collaboration with Lucas County, Destination Toledo, and the City of Toledo, this year’s Turkey Chase will utilize the exhibit halls of The Glass City Center for all pre- and post-race activities. Additionally, new group challenges have been introduced, allowing businesses and families to compete for the "Largest Team" in various categories.

According to Clint McCormick, Chief Operating Officer for Run Toledo, "The 10th running saw nearly 5,000 participants register for this annual Thanksgiving Day run, and we expect to see that number continue to grow as the Toledo running community expands. By moving the start/finish line closer to the convention center, we gain access to indoor space for amenities like our hot chocolate tent, photos with Santa, and packet pickup, as well as additional parking garages to accommodate the event's increasing size."

The annual Dave’s Turkey Chase 5K is recognized as the ideal Thanksgiving Day family fun run/walk. With media sponsor WTOL 11 in Downtown Toledo, the event also offers a one-mile walk, a kids run, and a virtual participation option—all benefiting Cherry Street Mission Ministries. The updated route will now start on Summit St. at Jefferson, proceed past 5/3 Field, turn onto Huron St. past the Huntington Center, cross Cherry St., and return to Summit St. for the finish at Promenade Park. The event is produced by Run Toledo, the events division of Dave’s Running Shop.

Embodying the spirit of "giving" in Thanksgiving, Cherry Street Mission Ministries will continue to be the charitable recipient, as it has been for all 10 previous Turkey Chase events. The vision of Cherry Street Mission is to provide access to every opportunity an individual may need to move toward a life of health and wholeness.
