🕒 Start Times

• 1K Kid’s Run: 7:30 AM

• 5K Race: 8:00 AM

Both races start and finish on N Yale Ave on the East Side of Memorial Park. Please make sure you are on the start line at least 10 minutes before the posted race start times. 

📍 Packet Pickup

Race bibs and shirts can be picked on at Memorial Park (840 N Indian Hill Blvd, Claremont, CA), on the east side of the park, near Yale Ave, at the following times:

• Thursday, July 3 from 4:30 PM – 7:30 PM

• Race Day (Friday, July 4) from 6:00 AM – 7:30 AM

Important: If you arrive after 7:30 AM on race day, packet pickup will be closed and you run the risk of missing the event. Please arrive early!

🚗 Parking Info

Street parking is available throughout the neighborhood, just make sure you’re not blocking any driveways and keep an eye out for posted restrictions. You are likely better off staying on the west side of Indian Hill Blvd to avoid race course closures.

🛣️ 5k Course Overview

The 5K course is mostly flat and downhill for the first two miles, with a steady climb in the final mile as you head back toward the start/finish line in Memorial Park. There will be one water stop located around the halfway point. You can see a map of the 5k course below. 

☀️ Weather & Hydration

Race-time temps are expected to be in the high 60s to low 70s. While not too hot, please make sure you arrive hydrated and prepared for warm weather. There will be one water stop on course (water only).

☀️ Lining Up at the Start

If you are participating in the 5k, please be mindful of where you line up at the start. There will be signage and volunteers to help guide you, but for everyone's safety the first few rows should be limited to people planning to go 7:00/mile pace or faster. If you plan to walk the course, we ask that you start toward the back. Thanks for your cooperation in keeping things safe and smooth for everyone!

🏅 Awards & Medals

• All Kid’s Run finishers will receive a medal at the finish line.

• Top 3 finishers in every 5K age group will receive a custom Freedom 5K pint glass!

  • Age groups: 14 & under, 15–19, and then every 5-year increment up to 90+

• There will be an awards area in the park, where you can go grab your prize between 9 and 10am. There is no formal award ceremony.
