Rockwell Brewery Riverside was chosen for its excellent combination of great beer, ideal event space, and an outstanding location to begin and end the bike ride.
Note on Past Locations: We love offering a unique brewery experience each year! In past years, the Bikes & Beers Frederick event has been hosted at breweries including Flying Dog, Attaboy Beer, and Smoketown Brewing.

Each of our Bikes & Beers events offers three distinct cycling routes to accommodate various skill levels:
- 15-Mile Route: Designed for novice and moderate riders.
- 30-Mile Route: Recommended for moderate and experienced riders.
- 45-Mile Route: Recommended for moderate and experienced riders seeking a greater challenge.
Route Details & Support
- Route Maps: All routes are published on ridewithgps.com. Specific links and detailed instructions will be provided in your confirmation email and in follow-up emails leading up to the event day.
- Ride Leaders: Depending on volunteer turnout, we have dedicated Ride Leaders for each starting group. These leaders are there to assist with group pace, route guidance, and general encouragement.

No, this is NOT a race.
Bikes & Beers is a fun, non-competitive event designed for cyclists of all skill levels to get out, enjoy the road, and celebrate the local craft beer scene.
Age requirements are based on riding status:
- Riding Independently: Participants must be 21 years or older to ride on their own.
- Riding with Guardian: Participants who are 16 years or older may ride, but must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian throughout the entire event.
- Safety Restriction: For safety reasons, anyone under the age of 16 is not permitted to ride, even under the guidance of an adult.
Note for Registrants Ages 16–20:
Since participants between the ages of 16 and 20 will not be served beer, please contact us before registering to receive a discount code for the event entry fee.
Note for Underage Registrants for the Post-Ride Party:
Anyone under the age of 21 will not be served beer. However, all ages are welcome to the post-ride party to cheer on participants as they cross the finish line!
To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants on the route, Bikes & Beers does not permit riding with children or pets in trailers, strollers, baby seats, or any other attached carriers.
Our dog policy is determined by the specific rules of the host brewery.

We will be happy to check the current policy for the host brewery and confirm whether pets are allowed on the property for the post-ride festival.
Yes! The post-ride festival, held at the host brewery, is a great place to relax, enjoy the atmosphere, and is generally family-friendly.
Bringing Non-Riding Guests (Ages 21+)
If you are an adult (21+) and not participating in the ride, you may purchase a "Post-Ride Entry" registration to join the festivities. This entry includes all the post-ride perks that riders receive:
- Official Bikes & Beers Pint Glass
- Two (2) Complimentary Craft Beers
- High-Quality Neoprene Beer Koozie
- Raffle Ticket for a chance to win prizes
- Extra sponsor perks + Event-Specific Sticker!

Bringing Minors (Under Age 21)
Minors who are not receiving the perks listed above may enter the post-ride party at no cost. They will not receive beer redemption tokens.
Important Note on Children:
While we do not permit participants under the age of 16 to ride, our host breweries allow minors to attend the post-ride party under adult supervision.
Yes. All Bikes & Beers events are held rain or shine.
The safety of our riders is our number one priority. If the weather forecasts are calling for unsafe cycling conditions, we will notify participants via email of potential event format changes.
No, there is no official time limit for completing the ride. This is not a race, and we want everyone to enjoy the route at their own pace.
Important Note on Post-Ride Festivities:
Please be aware of the following deadlines for the post-ride party:
- Raffle Deadline: The after-party raffle will be conducted no later than 1:20 PM.
- Beer Redemption: The last call to redeem your beer coupons will be 2:00 PM.
If you arrive back at the brewery later than these cutoff times, neither Bikes & Beers nor the host brewery is responsible for providing these items or services. We encourage all participants to select an appropriate distance and start time based on their cycling ability to ensure they are back in time to fully enjoy the post-ride festival.
To ensure a safe and enjoyable ride, we strongly recommend bringing the following essential items:
- Helmet (Required): Helmets are mandatory for all participants.
- Water Bottle: Bring at least one water bottle for easy fill-ups at our rest stops to stay hydrated throughout the route.
- Fully Charged Cell Phone: Ensure your phone is fully charged before the event morning. This is necessary for accessing the Ride with GPS routes and for making potential emergency calls.
- Bright Clothing: We recommend wearing bright-colored clothing or adding reflective gear so you are as visible as possible to motorists on the road.
All event check-in is conducted the morning of the ride and is a very fast process.
- Arrival Time: Please arrive at the host brewery at least 30 minutes before your individual start time.
- Required Item: You must bring a valid photo ID for check-in.
- Merchandise Pickup: Any included or pre-purchased merchandise (t-shirts, jerseys, etc.) will be available for pickup during the post-ride party.
While a road bike is best suited for the courses, any type of bike will do!
We welcome all bicycles and love seeing creative and unique bikes out on the course. Ultimately, the best bike to bring is the one you are most comfortable riding for your registered ride distance.
Yes, E-Bikes are welcome! We are happy to have you join us.
Since E-Bikes have motor assistance, we ask that you be extra courteous to all other participants and strictly adhere to the following safety guidelines:
- Passing Distance: Always maintain a safe passing distance when overtaking other riders.
- Signaling: Always signal clearly before changing lanes or direction.
- Speed Awareness: Be mindful of your speed, particularly when passing or riding in group settings.

At Bikes & Beers, we are committed to giving back to the communities that host our events.

Yes, we accept day-of registrations, provided the event has not sold out.
Important Pricing Note:
If you register on the day of the event, you will be charged the full price. To maximize your savings and capitalize on our early bird deals, you must register online in advance of event day.
Detailed instructions regarding car parking locations and access will be provided to all registered participants in the pre-ride information emails.
These essential emails typically start being sent out approximately two weeks prior to the event day, so please keep an eye on your inbox!
For maximum convenience, the start and finish lines are located in the same place: at the host brewery location for the event.
No, we do not provide a gear check or a dedicated area to leave personal items while you are out on the ride.

Bikes & Beers and the host brewery are not responsible for any loss or damage to your personal property or belongings. Please plan accordingly and keep your items secure with you or stored safely in your vehicle.
Yes! We provide fully stocked rest stops along the course for your convenience, in addition to hydration options available at the pre-ride staging area.
Our rest stops are stocked with:
- Hydration: Water and electrolyte drinks (such as Gatorade).
- Fuel: Bananas, oranges, sports bars, and other snacks to fuel you up for the remainder of your ride.
- Facilities: Portable toilets are available at each rest stop.
