July 1st - Race Instructions

We are thrilled to bring you the Morningside Baptist Church Firecracker 5K.  As far as we know, this is one of Huntsville's oldest 4th of July races.  They missed a year last year but it's back!  We made a few changes but we think you will like them!
THE RACE IS OFFICIALLY SOLD OUT!  NO SWAPS OR EXCHANGES!

Packet Pick-up

Thursday, July 3rd, at Fleet Feet Huntsville from 12-5

In fact, to incentivize you Fleet Feet will give out FREE Swiftwick Socks to the first 100 to get their race packets on Thursday, July 3rd at Fleet Feet.

Shirts

There are white tank tops and there are grey tee and tanks.  They are gender specific.  Please take what you ordered and we can swap out sizes or styles later.  Thank you!  

I understand that not everyone wants a tank so there is an option.  The Brand is Presidio which is premium collection.  We hope you will love them!

Parking

IF YOU CAN PLEASE PARK AT SOUTHSIDE PARK.

There is plenty of parking here and bathrooms will be open.  From the park you can hop on the greenway and you are only 1/2 mile to the church or race start. Garmin Connect (directions)

Parking at the Church is somewhat limited.  We will be parking in the grass.  Please don't block folks in.  Again, if you can please park at the park.  Thank you!

Child Care

Child care is provided by the church please arrive early to get your child squared away with the church nursery.

Course & Race Start Information

START TIME 7:00 AM

THE STRAT WILL NOW BE ON THE GREENWAY.  

In the past we started in the parking lot.  Now the fast course is even faster. This is an out and back on the greenway with the finish at the church.  There will be one aid station at the turn around.

Please RUN ON THE RIGHT HAND SIDE OF THE GREENWAY! This will prevent folks from running onto oncoming runners.

Please line up accord to pace.  Faster runners at the front...please encourage your kids to start a little further back than the front line.  This is for their safety.

The course will be clearly marked and there will also be arrows.  You can't get off course.

FINISH will be in the Church Parking lot.

Finish line FOOD

The church will be providing baked goods and snacks inside the fellowship hall after the race.

Fleet Feet will be providing Baskin Robbins Ice Cream. 

You will be given a ticket at the finish line for your ice cream.

Finish line activities

There will be facepainting.

Swift Recovery will provide COLD PLUNGES for after the race.

Return 2 Sport will be set up if you need them.

Functional Chiropractic will be there for the fun too!

TOPO will have DEMO shoes.

Megans's Apothecary will have some herbal teas.

Coca Cola till also be available.

RESULTS & AWARDS

Awards are provided by Fleet Feet & Swift Recovery!

Everyone will receive a finisher medal!

We will try to do awards by 8:00 a.m. 

Then we will clean up and all go home and have a wonderful safe 4th of July!

It's back!

We are excited to bring you back your favorite local 4th of July Race!

Race start time is 7:00 a.m. at Morning Side Baptist Church.  Woo hoo!  We get to beat the heat.

The traditional post race food will be provided by the church in the followship hall as in the past

Great News!  The church will also be providing child care from 6:45 a.m.- 9:00 a.m.

Packet Pick-up:

Home baked food from the church.

Finisher Medals - yes there will be finisher medals!
