Over the years, many of you have been a part of our journey with the annual ACS Bike-a-thon. This tradition started over 30 years ago when our brother, Bob, began riding in the event. Bob went on to serve as chairman of the Bike-a-thon for a decade before returning to the road as part of “Alex’s Army”—a team established in honor of our Mom.
After a courageous battle with his third round of cancer, Bob passed away earlier this year. He was the heart and soul of “Alex’s Army,” bringing infectious energy, dedication, and unshakeable positivity to everything he touched. While he will not be physically riding alongside us this year, his spirit continues to inspire every mile.
Cancer has touched each and every one of us in some way, and we are determined to do what we can to help eliminate this disease. Every mile I ride is to honor Bob, as well as the countless others facing cancer today.
