Training Together

Whether you are just starting out or a seasoned triathlete. Regardless of if you joined to do an Iron Man or find friends to ride your bike more, training together makes you stronger! It also makes the club stronger. That is why we need times to train together. This could mean joining one of our weekly training runs or rides or creating a new one.

We strongly encourage members to post group training opportunities to the Listserv or the Facebook Group. You may see someone post a Friday swim or a weekend long run. You might see a summer open water swim pop up and last for 6 to 8 weeks or a Monday night trail ride that will last through the summer months. Don't be afraid to post your group training and COME to trainings posted. And don't worry, if the person posting is a speedster they usually say it in their post so you will know if you fit together. Below are some examples of training groups posts that give all the important information.

This Saturday (enter date) we are biking the Big Tree Loop  (ideally post the route from map my ride here). Meet at South Hampton/Bethel Park entrance in the parking lot by the ball field. Wheels down at 7:30 a.m. (this means if you aren't ready to ride out of the parking lot on your bike at 7:30 a.m. you will be left. It doesn't mean pulling in the parking lot in your car at 7:30 a.m.). Ride is approximately 21 miles. We will pace about 15 mph but this is a no drop ride. We will wait for each other at interchanges and stop signs.

Friday night (enter time/date) Open Water Swim at Finger Lakes. Meet at the North Shore. Everyone swims at their own pace but I would love to have some company. Email me if you need directions.

Sunday afternoon (enter time/date) I am doing a long training ride. It will be a 60 mile ride at roughly 17 mph. I would love some company. Training will be in preparation for my race coming up so sorry, but this is a drop ride. :-) Email me for details.

Social ride on the trail this Saturday (enter time/date). Let's bike to Cooper's Landing, have a beverage and bike back. This is a no drop ride. Social, not fast. Probably will pace around 13 mph but all paces welcome!

Have a weekly training swim, bike or run you would like to add to webpage as part of a CMC group training? Email membership@columbiamultisport.com to see if it meets the criteria to be added.
