About three and a half years ago, Eva — also known as Omi, or Mom — was diagnosed with ovarian cancer.
This year, we will be running the Mighty Moose virtually, but that won’t stop us from fundraising — just like nothing has stopped Eva/Omi/Mom from fighting.
Thanks to the incredible care from Dana-Farber, Eva has been able to keep doing the things she loves: traveling, kayaking, swimming, and most importantly, laughing — even while rocking a crooked hat during a vacation to the Caribbean .
We remain hopeful that one day, there will be an early detection test for ovarian cancer. Until then, she continues her monthly treatments with courage, grace, and a great sense of humor. That kayak photo? Taken just days after a chemo session. And now, she’s looking forward to celebrating her 90th birthday this October.
