I am running the Maine Marathon to raise money for Fleur de Lis Camp Circle Week.
Fleur de Lis Camp’s Circle Week is a free week of overnight summer camp for girls who have experienced the death of a parent. Circle Week integrates traditional overnight camp activities and fun with the opportunity to do some “grief work” in a safe and caring setting, under the guidance of an experienced Grief Team, surrounded by supportive peers.
I believe in the magic that happens at Fleur de Lis Camp: I spent my summers growing up at Fleur de Lis, and for the last 3 summers I had the opportunity to co-lead the counselor-in-training program.
The magic of Circle Week is even more powerful. I have had the privilege of being at Circle Week all years but the very first, and this year, as a co-director, I am learning even more about why the week is so special and what it takes to make it happen.
Any and every donation will help create the magic for Circle Week campers and volunteers. We all say "thank you!"
I'll be taking the bravery and resilience and energy and laughter of our Circle Week campers with me on this 26.2 mile adventure.
