WHY I'M FUNDRAISING WITH THE CHILDREN'S BEREAVEMENT CENTER
It's not just because I work here. :) I am taking Steps for Healing in the 2025 5K Run/Walk to provide free grief support for children, teens, and adults who have lost a loved one. Everyone encounters loss at some point in their life. I often hear from colleagues, friends, family, and communities who are grieving. I truly believe that it is something that we all deal with and cope differently and have learned that is okay, but everyone should have the opportunity to have the support that they need.
I work for the Children's Bereavement Center and Lift From Loss for Adults. Our team promotes healthful grieving - whatever that looks like. Whether you want educational resources, training for professionals, tips for parents, tools for kids, peer support groups, CBC has FREE access and support for everyone.
While I will be working at the in-person event on November 15th, I will complete my virtual 5K on Sunday, November 16th. The day of the race, my son Daniel and husband Adam will take steps at Zoo Miami. Daniel is still new to learning about loss (fortunately) but each year this race allows us to remember and honor all of our losses as well as family and friends. Daniel is running for his grandfather Zadie (Adam's Dad, Stuart, who we lost too early), as well as our grandparents and other family members no longer with us.
When you make a gift to my Run/Walk, you are directly supporting grieving individuals who need support, camaraderie, and hope to lift from loss. All contributions benefit the Children's Bereavement Center so that there are free grief support groups for all.
Thank you for supporting my Steps for Healing fundraiser and "Team Are We There Yet?"
