Run with the Devil!
📍 Desperado Resort | Boerne, TX
📅 Saturday, September 27th, 2025
Tough Trails. Texas Heat. River Reward.
Welcome to the Diablo del Desperado Trail Race, where the terrain is rugged, the temps are high, and the payoff is big. Held at the private Desperado Resort just outside of Boerne, TX, this is a trail running experience built for those who don’t back down from a challenge.
With 30K, 10K, and 5K options, the course takes you through rocky canyon paths, steep climbs, and gritty singletrack that winds deep into the heart of Texas Hill Country. And while there’s some shade along the way, you can expect plenty of exposure to that classic late-September Texas heat—hot, humid, and relentless.
But we’ve got your back: fully stocked aid stations will be placed throughout the course, offering cold water, electrolytes, fuel, first aid, and the support you need to battle the heat and keep moving forward.
Cross the finish line and you’re not done yet—take a jump into the Guadalupe River, just steps away from the finish, to cool down and celebrate your effort. Every participant receives a finisher’s medal and a race shirt, because if you conquer the Diablo del Desperado Trail Race, you’ve earned it.
🎟️ Spectators are welcome but must purchase a "Buddy Pass" for $10 before arriving, as Desperado Resort is private property.
This isn’t your average trail race—it’s a true Texas test. Sign up and see if you’ve got what it takes.
Chip Timing and Results
Starting the Race
The 5K will start at 7:30am and the 30K and 10K will start together at 7:40am. If you’d rather skip the crowd or you are running late, no problem. We’ll leave the start line open a little longer so you can ease onto the course at your own pace. The start line will officially close at 8am. Participants who arrive at the start line after 8am can run the route but will not be scored or timed. Just keep in mind that if you're aiming for an overall award, you'll want to be there for the official start of your race.
How Timing Works
We use chip timing to keep things accurate and fair. You’ll notice two times next to your name on the results page:
-
Gun Time – This is your official race time. It starts when the race starts (the horn goes off) and ends when you cross the finish. Awards and rankings are all based on this.
-
Chip Time – This is your personal elapsed time—from when you actually cross the start line to when you cross the finish. It's great for seeing your true pace, especially if you start after the main group, but it’s not used for awards.
