We have two major goals in 2026, and your participation in the Classic can help us get there!

Summer Fun Reading Challenge: This two-month event for all ages features events, hands-on activities and contests to foster a lifelong love of reading. Your support allows us to bring even more performers and instructors to make Summer 2026 the best yet! Last yeear we held over 100 events for all ages, such as Snakes Alive snake identification programs for kids, cookingg classes for teens, and gardening programs for adults. They are not just learning opportunities, but chances to build community and to connect with our neighbors.

Scholarships for Library Staff: Becoming a librarian is about so much more than just loving  books. They are highly-trained professionals who need to hold  masters degrees to move into higher-level positions. We are proud to fund scholarships for NOPL employees who are pursuing their Masters in Library Science at LSU. Our goal is to provide $20,000 in scholarship funding in 2026.Let's show our library staff how much we value their hard work!
