Craig's Legacy

Craig was a beloved husband and father. He cherished his role as a loving husband to his wife, Beth, and took great pride in supporting his children, Raymond and Sophie, in their pursuits. Craig lived a life filled with love, compassion, and dedication to his family and community where he was a volunteer firefighter, dedicated Scout leader, little league coach, and pillar of the community His tragic and untimely departure left a void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.     Whether it was supporting Raymond in Scouts and wrestling or cheering on Sophie in dance and archery, Craig was always there with unwavering love, support and encouragement.     Craig and his son, Nathan Edward, are now reunited in eternal peace.

Craig was a committed volunteer firefighter for the South Bound Brook Fire Department, where he served as the Deputy Chief among other positions.  He was a third-generation volunteer fireman, His grandfather was a founding member of the Blairstown Fire Department, where his father also served as a Fireman and EMT.  It was only a matter of time before Craig would join a department.   Craig was known and loved around the firehouse before he even became a member.  His bravery in the face of danger was a testament to his commitment to serving and protecting others. Craig was dedicated to continuing his fireman’s training and teaching others. In 2017, Craig humbly accepted the Valor Award on behalf of his fire department.

Craig's love for the outdoors and his desire to provide opportunities and experiences for youth were evident in his involvement as a Little League Coach for the Franklin Township South Bound Brook Little League. He found joy in working with young athletes, nurturing their talents, and instilling in them a sense of teamwork and sportsmanship. His impact extended beyond his immediate circle and his dedication touched the lives of many.

Craig was also deeply rooted in the scouting community, having served as a leader with Troop 42 and Troop 154. He was an Eagle Scout himself, earning this accomplishment at the age of 14, exemplifying the Scout Oath and Scout Law in everything he did. His passion for scouting extended beyond his own achievements as he mentored and guided young scouts, instilling in them the values of leadership, service, and camaraderie.     Craig was also an integral part of the Philmont Scout Crew 629-3, serving as one of the dedicated advisors preparing for a 90-mile trek for the summer of 2024, an adventure he and his son looked forward to doing together. His passion for scouting and commitment to the development of young Scouts was evident in his every action. In honor of Craig's memory, the Philmont Scout Crew 629-3 will continue their journey with heavy hearts but fortified by his enduring spirit. They will carry forward his legacy of dedication, leadership, and camaraderie as they embark on their summer trek.

Raymond and Sophie are left to carry on Craig’s legacy of love, service, and dedication. Though his physical presence may be gone, Craig's memory will forever be cherished by his family, friends, and the lives he touched through his selfless service and boundless generosity. Always with a warm smile, giving spirit and selflessness, Craig won the hearts of all that knew him.   Craig’s absence will forever leave a void for all who knew him.
