For ten years, the Christine B. Foundation (CBF) has been working to improve the lives of cancer patients and their families across Maine.
The primarily volunteer-driven team is on the front lines of care—meeting patients on the first day of treatment and providing consistent, medically tailored nutrition services throughout their cancer journey. This includes weekly delivery of healthy groceries, in-hospital produce distribution, and one-on-one counseling with registered dietitians.
As a result, 1,500 individuals are supported each year by CBF as they navigate the emotional, financial, and physical burdens a cancer diagnosis puts on them. Dollars from donors and runners cover 100% of program expenses.
We believe that no one should fight cancer alone, and by contributing as a Maine Marathon, Half, or Relay runner, or donor to one, you can be part of this work!
This partnership with Maine Marathon allows us to:
-Raise vital funds to continue and grow our patient programs;
-Increase community awareness of the unique needs of rural Mainers facing cancer;
-Celebrate survivorship, resilience, and the power of movement in healing.
Each runner has a story. Join our team by making a donation or registering to run for a cause with CBF!
